Dance Showcase 13th May 2018 – Freman College

                         Dance Showcase 13th May 2018 2.00 – 5.15pm Freman College Hall

All Pupils of Buntingford School of Dance!

We are very proud of all our talented students! We would like to show off the hard work of each of our students, from the youngest in Baby Ballet through to the eldest who are dancing at vocational level.

Each class will perform a piece they have worked on recently in their classes, either for an exam or as part of a termly project.

We do hope you can come and watch!  CLICK HERE TO VIEW/DOWNLOADicket Info – Showcase 2018

We are really excited to be able to give each of our pupils another opportunity, in between our big biennial shows, to perform on stage for parents to enjoy. We have called this a ‘Showcase’ as it will be a short snapshot demonstration of what has been worked on over the last year, and the standard achieved for exams in which we again achieved a 100% pass rate!… rather than big costumed numbers. A performed ‘watching week’ if you like.

Each class will get the opportunity to perform on stage, in their regular class uniform, and it will be a chance for the younger students to watch, and be inspired by the Senior pupils, if they would like to.

Showcase Times:

2.00-3.00/3.15pm (younger students and lower grades)

4.00-5.00/5.15pm (older students and higher / vocational grades)

Details of the exact split of classes, between the 2 showcases will follow

Students will be not be chaperoned by us, but will sit in the auditorium in allocated rows in front of their parents, so they can watch. Students will not need tickets.

We need to cover the cost of hiring the venue together with staffing and administrative expenses, so there will be a nominal charge for tickets as follows;

£4.00 per person (17 yrs and over)

£2.00 per child (16 yrs and under) and OAPs

Tickets will be available initially as follows;

Sat 3rd March  9 – 11am @ URC Hall (via Zoe Eaglesfield)

Sat 3rd March  10 – 12am @ Freman College (via Lynn Briffett, in the gym corridor)

Tuesday 6th March  4.15 – 6.15pm @ Freman College (Via Zoe Eaglesfield)

Thursday 8th March – 4.00 – 6.15pm @ URC Hall

If your child will not be taking part we MUST BE INFORMED BY EMAIL TO BUNTINGFORDDANCE@BTINTERNET.COM ASAP. Thank you!

COMMERCIAL DANCE CLASS – Wednesdays 7.15 – 8.15pm URC Hall – Starting 17th January.

I’m really excited to say that we are trialling a NEW Commercial Dance Class! on Wednesday evenings. Commercial Dance is very popular at the moment, and is taught at all of the major vocational dance colleges, as it equips students with up to date and relevant dance skills and presents a wide range of employment options.

What is Commercial Dance?… Commercial dance encompasses a myriad of styles. This can include Street, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Contemporary. It is the type of dance seen in music videos, on the catwalk and at fashion shows, artist tours, advertising campaigns, corporate events, TV and film etc.

The class will be open to all those in School Year 10 and over.  It is the perfect way to lead on from our Street Classes, but for an older age group.  It will be taught by Miss Elloise, who Choreographed our wonderful ‘Tribe’ dance for the show.

The first class will be on Wednesday 17th January at the URC Hall at 7.15 – 8.15pm.  It is a trial class so it is FREE OF CHARGE.  The only thing we ask is that you spread the word and bring along friends who may be keen to have a go, as we will only be able to run the class going forwards if we have enough participants.

It promises to be fun, and energetic, and needs loads of ‘attitude’ (!) and I think it will be a very good way of relieving any exam stresses that may be building up!?…

Please let us know ASAP if you would like to be included in the trial class next week – click here to email us.  Please also ask anyone else who may be interested to email us in order that they can be included on the register.  Thank you.
